Coca-Cola IPO
About Coca-Cola IPO
Coca-Cola went public in 1919 at 40 per share. The stock dropped to 19 within a year due to sugar price instability. It then began a rise that would make it one of the greatest long term investments ever. A single share purchased at the 1919 IPO price, adjusted for splits, would be worth over 20 million dollars today with dividends reinvested. Warren Buffett began buying Coca-Cola stock in 1988, calling it the most certain investment he ever made. Coca-Cola became one of the most recognized brands in the world, sold in every country except Cuba and North Korea. The company has paid dividends for over 100 consecutive years and increased them annually for over 60 years.
