About Ray Dalio Bridgewater
Ray Dalio founded Bridgewater Associates in 1975 in his New York apartment. Bridgewater became the largest hedge fund in the world, managing 150 billion. Dalio developed the All Weather portfolio strategy, designed to perform in any economic environment. His book Principles sold millions of copies. Bridgewater pioneered risk parity investing and global macro strategies. Dalios culture of radical transparency, where meetings are recorded and employees rate each other, was controversial but central to his approach. Bridgewater correctly anticipated the 2008 crisis. Dalio stepped down as CEO in 2017 but remains involved. His concerns about rising debt, populism, and US China conflict have been influential in policy circles.
