About Charlie Munger
Charlie Munger was Warren Buffetts partner at Berkshire Hathaway for 45 years. Munger shifted Buffett from buying mediocre companies cheaply to buying great companies at fair prices. Munger was vice chairman of Berkshire and influenced Buffetts purchase of See Candies, which taught him the value of brand quality. Munger was known for his mental models approach to thinking, drawing from psychology, physics, biology, and history. His book Poor Charlies Almanack became essential reading. Munger died in 2023 at age 99, 33 days short of his 100th birthday. Buffett said that Berkshire was built on the blueprints Munger provided. Without Munger, Berkshire would not be what it is.
